REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

 

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR ADA-COMPLIANT DOOR INSTALLATION WITH 

ACCOMPANYING WALKWAY ACCESS TO OUTDOOR CLASSROOM


The Grantham School District (herein referred to as the ”District”) requests proposals from licensed contractors (herein referred to as the “Contractor”) to retrofit and install an ADA compliant door on, and an ADA compliant walkway to, the District’s Outdoor Classroom Building  located at the Grantham Village School, 75 Learning Drive, Grantham, NH 03753.

 

The District will accept proposals delivered in person, by courier or by USPS to the Grantham School District, 300 Route 10 South, Grantham, NH 03753. All proposals must be received by 1:00 PM EDT, November 15, 2017 to be considered a Responsive Proposal.  Responsive Proposals shall provide that the terms of the Proposal will remain valid for at least 30 days. Proposals submitted by fax or e-mail will be considered non-responsive and will not be accepted.

 

Contractors are expected to view the District’s Outdoor Classroom prior to submitting their proposal. A walkthrough time for viewing the building and Q&A will be held on 

October 25, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Contractors who have a major conflict with this time may attempt an alternative arrangement by contacting Mr. Scott Taylor, Director of Facilities, 

at 603- 863-9689 or via email at staylor@sau75.org. An alternative time to the scheduled walkthrough is not guaranteed.

 

Copies of this RFP are available at the office of School Administrative Unit 75, 300 Route 10 South, Grantham, NH 03753. The office is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Request for Proposal is also posted on the District’s website.

 

The Grantham School Board reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to take any other such action that, in their sole opinion, is in the best interests of the Grantham School District. The District is committed to prohibiting discrimination in employment on the basis of race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, citizenship, height, weight, marital status, or handicap.

 

The Contractor, as required by law, shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment with them with respect to hire, tenure, terms, conditions or privileges of
employment, or a matter directly relating to employment, because of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, disability that is unrelated to the individual's ability to perform the duties of a particular job or position, height, weight, or marital status. Breach of this covenant may be regarded as a material breach of any resultant contract.

 

Proposal Submission

Each proposal shall include the costs for the ADA compliant door and walkway, a Certificate of Insurance naming the District as an additional loss payee, and must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the outside with the name, address, contact person, phone number and email address for the Contractor responsible for the proposal.  
Please submit the name, address, and contact information for 3 references for jobs of similar scope completed in the last two years.

 

The envelope must be marked in the lower left-hand corner with the following notation:

                        Questions Regarding the RFP

Questions about the RFP, its content, or any other questions deemed necessary to submit a responsive proposal must be directed to Mr. Scott Taylor, Director of Facilities, at 603-863-9689 or via email to staylor@sau75.org.

Contract Terms & Conditions

1. Contract Documents - The contract document shall be a District purchase order and shall incorporate by reference the “Request for Proposal – Outdoor Classroom ADA Compliant Door”, any questions and written explanations or clarifications of the RFP provided,  and all documents submitted by the Contractor in satisfying this request.

         2.  Non-Transferable - The Contractor shall not have the right to transfer or assign the contract to any other person, firm or corporation.

3. Indemnification - The Contractor’s insurance carrier shall defend, hold harmless, and indemnify to the maximum extent provided by law, the District, their officers, agents and employees from and against any and all claims, suits or demands for injuries or damages of any kind to any person or firm, in any way arising out of the performance of the contract. Proof of insurance, naming the District as an additional loss payee, shall be provided by Contractor to the District as part of their response to this RFP.
