Kaiser Permanente start without her to do a comedy show at 6:38 item on the agenda agenda I would like to offer one slight changes in the schedule moving the superintendent search update to Justice after the board get out of here at a decent hour any other attractions for the agenda people in ad why would I set the motion to set the agenda as amended with the superintendent search Streamwood was done just after the school board second to Nancy all those in favor all right we will now I don't know open this up to public participation as a reminder this is the person pertaining to the station we just asking the meeting minutes and I can leave the only person we have on Wednesday another minute all right senior there no comments online for school board no I'd like to wish you all a happy holidays and happy new year so we will have five half-days schedule December 30th we had our first ever meeting the wrestling at Levis so we have a competition which we had 17 Team 17 teams come in and we placed fifth overall and I would like to call him into one of our own John Island in class 215 for waste so we also had Winterfest before I went to vacation we had many activities such as karaoke puzzles and other such games is very good for Community Building in our school we all have an assembly which had a wonderful talent show with Lemay singers Irish step comedy ever made a great job we also had a new competition thing to Rally school. This is where we were trying to take are crows and t-shirts and put them on nobody didn't our school show is Merrily We Roll Along with the January 31st and February 1st play two players which is our theater troupe is trying to set together or ring together aboard of kids students at our school so that we can be more immersed in the culture of the kids make it more accessible so our building and the school coming along swimmingly we finally have bricks on the front portion of the building and the cafeteria for the little kids school with is attached to ours is also going along quite well we also recently had French clubwear wrote back letters to the little kids who wrote to Santa so we got those letters and we did some lovely work for Santa and help him write some letters are you Progressive Act black hiding driver recent and brought cooler boxes of hygiene products up to listen we also have a new Raiders basketball team and if you guys want to come January 3rd is their next game for Alpine ski team had a great race Redwood as this wasn't their first day on the snow because we all know it's not been the best of snow season in the Gs and fifth in the slalom won the boys placed sixth in both races Autoplex to discuss the school's up here there's a team working on 306 is up here I'm part of this I am part of a 12-member team of kids that's working in doing a panel and I'm sorry and a new system of trying to maintain Civility and discussions in Russian called keep it real and that is happening next week I can spread information out to you it's mainly open to high schools and we have search for presidential members who have answered questions coming from the kids and we have videos of their responses and then we'll have an alert on to that and we'll have a fake discussion going on that will also show the principles of heat real and we have 35 school coming with 25 coming from each so that's also one of our kids 2014 I believe Charlie is helping run this and Kim Dubner are you open to start classes at the school anime opportunity to pursue for me on that team is 14 of us and I'm the only person representing the Upper Valley and I love getting more Upper Valley representation into this type of things so that might be an interesting opportunity for you guys and thank you. Can you just give a little bit of fat is in a is sunshine Musical and the whole scene is a friendship so it's actually really sorry it was just revived on Broadway with Daniel Radcliffe John and Doc and an actress who I personally do not know the name of that I'm at the very end of their friendship going back in time through their life and the life of his friendship and it follows those themes of ever-changing and hope ends with hope that you know terribly it ends in a way so it's trying to deal with a complex human emotion and sometime if you're into that last time but those that are low and this year have been working on at our school they were to play gun violence and will be going on this summer. big thing in our community because National schools around here you guys also probably not, they're working on the script and very very I don't know if you guys are low but they do and they are together too tight or i v a r e and after 1 2 and 3 on your tell you just a little bit about each of them pretty quickly here so the title Grand so all the name title in it come from the elementary and secondary Education Act at Wisconsin 1965 by President Johnson and then it was amended and updated by the every student succeeds act in 2015 by President Obama to talk to all of this will share this with you you guys can have this resource is a backup but Title One is it's a formula and base cramp so it's not competitive it's based solely on our percentage of free and reduced lunch applications that qualify kissing because that's how we get the money for title one but then that has nothing to do with how we qualify kids in terms of our ranking system that's based on their academic performance the two things you should know kids that are Agron and homeless automatically qualify for Title One regardless of their academic standing so this is really about closing the gap between the socioeconomic differences between you know our research showed young children from more poverty-stricken environment and to not perform as well as their peers so that's how this whole Grant got his start actually really focusing on student services right Utah to really focusing on the professional growth and learning of teachers and our administrators so all of this money actually goes to staff and the grand actually says that anything you buy intitle to you actually you can't be like a student resource but the professional development that's needed around teachers using resources that can be paid through title to and again this is a Formula basecraft interesting enough this one to titleone you can kind of predict year. how your allocations going to go up and down by that percentage of what we know what we're putting in consensus numbers in it I mean census numbers in it it's got some Title 1 introduced in it it's got academic achievement status in it and itching its luxury really greatly I will just say that right now I'm actually in conversation with a DLC because one of the district's I work for sorry $14,000 drop entitled to between last year and this year we're trying to figure out why because all the indicators we have wouldn't have Justified that so we're kind of checking into that currently so just one can go up and down quite a bit for you title for I'm so title for is an interesting one because it's evolved over several years title for initially started really around technology in the 90s when you know schools are trying to build up technology I switched over to health Wellness for students now it's like a combination of all of that and title for beyaz also a formula base but it's like a step Grant meaning eat meat this threshold you get this and out and then it rises to another about like it jumps we get ten thousand a year that's the lowest amount you can get her butt from getting 50. now basically around still technology and about Safety and Security in a lot of schools use this to support any social emotional learning me like they need to bring in outside counseling support you'll see water district use that we've bring it up in a minute I'm the idea grant for special education I'm just really just that again what I always say this what title one does for a children in poverty idea Grant does for our students with disabilities there's two parts to this this is the part that typically most people know about with students you know starting at our kindergarten through you know 21 in 21 now that we serviced but it is added into preschool now so because that age has come down now to trial so I'm being at the start of each 3 so now there's money also around preschool as well as that a through 8:21 and then Reap is part of what's the r l l I asked you to qualify for our liso you qualify for read but it's all part of just being this world education initiative it's non competitive again it's just based on a horn and the real criteria is right here at least twenty percent children Easter come from families with incomes below the poverty line and be located in a rural area she can talk to you more about the discovery of it recently I mean we consistently yeah I've been getting between $14,000 to $19,000 going toward you know what kind of stuff anything that are in from the title G are there any supplies items for like our annual meeting on certain software programs and I'm 10 McLean high school bus transportation that bill will be 1 hour I forgotten about the storage unit so don't worry I just passed tractor and supply certain items like that and then we'll go back up to the top here to r i d a g and you can see most of this is contracted services in Sac in there and then contracted services that we have that were providing I mean in 2020 150 1507 and 36th Ave and as of this year would be $93,957.34 so you seen almost a doubling their of the idea and that is Rise of our population and then title for so title for you can see here has been pretty consistent around 10,000 in 2122 we actually got 10,000 but we didn't spend all of that so I actually showed what we expect and you can see there is a mental health Counseling Services the last three years has been the primary focus of that Grant and then some SEL resources in training I'm in PD for the first year last title for and then if we bump up to so title to remember is that PD grant for educators and administrators and you can see there's been a variety of activities if you look at that column speed host of different activities go on in that g we have been you know around 13706 and $0.10 in 2021 to I mean we're down to about 13,000 4380 title to this a lot of and that was in Ashley the next five years title to will actually go away completely and may not even be available any more reservations do you know when is it a real relationship so it was done in 15 so it should be coming up in the next two years here but I'm kind of delayed when I Obama reauthorized in 2015 it was actually well past the 10-year Mark is like almost 18 years since they had me authorized it was constipated so yeah so you know it is what it is I mean over the years we've used it a lot for the mentoring that's still consistent I mean what we did is we highlighted and gray so if the items that are highlight in Gray is what we have proposed to move over into the get now to put some stabilization to these programs that we know we have funded through the Gramps on mentoring is one on and then the purchase of vector which is our annual training requirements we have been funding for that and that is something that we suggested to move when you have access to this digital you can come all the way over to the column and see how we put what the funding sources that were proposing in the anticipated ship them out that were would actually impact the budget for that title to a whole host of things that you can see a lot of it is is PD it's just training from no behavior training registered Behavior Beatty as register Behavior technician training to we sent two of them asked people to the New England conference so a lot of that's how we pay for those PD and then and then I don't want I don't want the pretty cut-and-dry for us you have to have a required this is interesting you have to have three required set of sides in the grant automatically you have to have homeless set aside you have to have a supplies and materials by their side and you have to have a family engagement set aside I want to track that a little better for us because here's the deal there's no requirement of amount you have to see if we got over $500,000 in titled when money was sorry about I have a certain percentage that were required to set aside but because we're under that pressure and soon but the catch is once you do that set aside you you have to lock it in you actually can't go in during the year and change it and say I want to reduce it because like I do people when I talk to them in the reason I say what are you said they're like yeah I'm only setting aside like $50 initially so I think we need to think about school is eligible for Title 1 services in your target is very tight ranking structure in show and then get really more issue of supplanting versus supplemental supplement Above & Beyond in the furniture will go ask you this question Jose you take those Title 1 Services away what impact will have on the kids if they're truly supplemental you go none you know this is above and beyond what they would get in a general education environment so we have to be really careful that we're not supplanting services for title one that we are truly using it as a supplement which is why a lot of people who I don't want to come for before and after school program beyond the school bag so what am I away from the child in terms of the school day if that was lost really nothing because they're getting full access to their school is it gets tricky when you're trying to do mtss try to him you know what you get kidding. out of Grants what are we saying that $80,000 now is it going to be a 9% increase in the overall budget 67067 * 1 regardless of whether we should have been doing it or not it's just like for title one person wear now that we've been getting has been treating you know he can't really be kind of got to plan ahead and do you know what that is nothing in our budget and we do get the funding can you use the graph to paid or those that I can think of three instances NFL's personnel-related we're actually while they were grant-funded you were carrying some of their salary all along and what happened is because of the salary cap increasing right you were picking up more of a Garden of that while the grant was going down so I hear you had when you say you know about 67,000 is getting shifted out of grass actually I'm thinking I can account for about 30 to 35 of that 16 that actually was that wasn't in the grant to begin with either but you guys were covering through other General funds or a serve money that's the other big play in their or Monies to make up the difference of those Grant of those salaries going up grass coming down and you haven't get gas so I don't really want to get into that we did it all so technically they're all approvable things we could just we could you're still going to come up short on some salary lines because between what you had budgeted from General COs in what the grant allocation was hoping to be those are weirdos that were covering 20% of we're now whopping 80% on top of that yes it would be exactly the same that 67000 but like I said we were talking ID that one I'm typically we've used to fully fund to pair then I went to go do most be like contacted Services coming out of the general fund we can take as much as possible and you divide 8 months for that. but it's still hard to kind of and the other grandmother gone so we've been it was partially funding so now that we have to go to the general for so there is an increase right there grant would be for the next school year so like this October one what we sent in for numbers would dictate what we're going and we do convince them that you should be taking more than one read you should give up more than one opportunity throughout the school year and 42 of the year they did allow us to resubmit in the spring to get another push out in bet they would take either of the two are numbers in into our grant allocation on that but now they remember you ordered that traditional ways we've asked for years about we really need to look at the formula of how the title one grants are allocated you know when that initial application was made by the bank it was on the late 90s early 2000 allegedly no not really because it comes from the federal government in a minute so the bad seven the money to the state Ad Agency they you know submit their application and then it gets better by the feds part of it is the fence also mean consider how we are allocating and getting more aggressive because I lived in a little school okay I had such a small population that if I was there I had a family of four move in and I couldn't convince them I would lose like 10 12 15 percentage on my numbers and I will I need my middle school that I used to work for you know the smallest of the four schools I went from one year being a half of a percentage point away from being able to qualify and school why to drop to the bottom of the list of 4 because my numbers were so variable because my all sizes and I just filed every appeal I can imagine and our numbers are down so sorry how to get these free and reduced lunch applications backup funeral and oh yeah last night it was like a 60-40 split meaning 60% of the schools in New Hampshire Workwear Title 1 school wise and about 40% of us just targeted Bissonnet do you have at least 40% or more that are qualifying for free and reduced lunches you can fill out an app that can be based on the X on the on the school district They're being sent you don't feel that we need manager and the way we presented it was it would be a is 9 / instructional specialist that if our numbers decrease you and TSS and work I don't see our numbers increasing our overall population has also increased which is when I started here in 2019 we have 220 270 now so I know so with the proposal right now I his managed by student Madeline has a classroom because my certification allows for the work is grade and he's working with older kids that I can't work with just so that we can meet the needs of all the students and get them services so we're requesting and an additional case manager I want to see her tomorrow are our office person to do some of them are able are just so you know there's a lot of paperwork with that medication they have to be making all the meetings if you're on the other paperwork are riding on the porch they're scanning all the paperwork and they're sending it so that is taking its not taking instructional time out there doing it so if we could get a front office. messing up loading scanning all those documents that need to be scanned into the system call Dalton Hall personal site how do you fit all
