2 GVS Destination Imagination Teams Earn Globals Spots!

Grantham Village School’s Destination Imagination teams rocked the creativity world this season as they spent months solving complex challenges in early learning, the fine arts, science, and engineering!

Rising Stars teams Cats in Fall managed by parent volunteer Sam Reney and Wolf Pack managed by parent volunteer Nicole Mason amazed and amused us with their performance solutions to the challenge Play On! at the regional tournaments in Meredith and Amherst.

Third grade team, Thrill Team, managed by parent volunteers Vansanta Kommineni and Michelle Wahl made us scream with delight and raise our hands as they presented their solution to the engineering challenge, Thrill Ride at their regional tournament.in Amherst!

Our fourth grade team, The New Hampsters, managed by parent volunteers Aaron Jenkyn and Scott Bunzy, turned our world upside down with their solution to the fine arts challenge, Flip the Script- placing third at their regional meet, qualifying for the state affiliate meet where they placed second, and qualifying them for the DI Global Finals!

Fifth/ fourth grade team, Mythbusting Alpacas managed by parent volunteers Stephanie Reardon and Deb Sweeney, had us in a state of disbelief as they placed second at regionals in the scientific challenge Far Fetched! They, too, competed at the state affiliate meet, placing second and qualifying for the DI Global Finals!

5th grade team, Supernova, managed by parent volunteer James Walsh, had us turning somersaults with their solution to the fine arts challenge, Flip the Script, placing third at their regional meet! They went on to compete at the state affiliate meet, placing 5th in this very popular challenge!

6th grade team, The Little Expo Markers, managed by GVS 3rd grade teacher Jake Hansen, transformed us with their performance solution to Flip the Script! They placed fourth at their regional competition, qualifying them for the state affiliate meet where they not only showcased their talents, but provided support and encouragement to all the younger GVS DI kids!

The thing that has really struck me at all three of these tournaments was the sheer number of family members who came out to support our kids! GVS families packed the performance rooms to standing room only every time. What an incredible community we have!

Thanks for supporting GVS’s Creativity Teams!
